The Leadership Ranch – Tim Eberle Tim Eberle started developing the concept for The Leadership Ranch in the early 1990. The Ranch's primary facility was built around a neglected rental property in Republic, MO. Friends of all ages assisted in cleaning up and reviving the property. Wildlife was abundant, due to an absence of livestock, and the 44 improved acres developed into fertile and sustainable land use. Now we are a large challenge course, offering leadership and motivational experiences based on the principles of Emotional Intelligence (Daniel Goleman) and Self Determination Theory (Edward Deci), paralleled with a natural laboratory offering science presentations that are coordinated with the Permaculture Theory. These programs, often overlapping, appeal to a wide variety of clients, of every age and background.
Early in our history, elementary school curriculums were developed as motivational, leadership, and behavioral education intertwined with a science lesson. Our initial focus was on younger students in an effort to instill positive life long learning habits while they are receptive. The critical traits these children were developing are central for everyone regardless of age gender or culture since they revolve around core human needs and characteristics. Our research into experiential learning demonstrated the power of these principles for the everyone. Soon we expanded our programs to include High Schools, Colleges, and the corporate business community. |
