Youth Programs

The Leadership Ranch began with youth organizations in mind. Schools, sports teams, clubs, religious groups, all benefit from the results accessible in our programs. Traits including empathy, communication skills, giving one's best effort, teamwork, discipline and respect are all addressed through the initiatives experienced at The Ranch. For an athletic group like a football team, this is football practice. For a marching band this is band practice. If a school is dealing with bullying issues, that becomes a theme during the day.

When a student group is looking for practical scientific lessons we can incorporate our farm that includes domesticated farm animals, crops, plants, wildlife from birds to butterflies, wild berries and the wonders of the four seasons found in Southwest Missouri.

A fascinating aspect of the work we do is how well the results derived from a day on a well presented ropes course wraps around the concerns, issues, and characteristics of the participants… and it is fun. Walking through the landscape, bounding across mountains of wood chips, picking berries, finding fox footprints, sitting by a fire or swinging through the trees, the Leadership Ranch becomes a memorable adventure for all.
